The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that its embassies in Greece and Lebanon were following up two boat incidents off the Greek islands of Lesbos and Samos, in which Palestinians from Lebanon and Syria went missing.

Ambassador to Greece Yusuf Dargham said the Hellenic Coast Guard had confirmed recovering four bodies near Lesbos and one near Samos. The victims had not yet been identified.

The ministry said it was working with the families on death certificates and on returning the bodies to Lebanon and Syria, a process it warned would take time, and urged Palestinians not to attempt irregular migration.
