Mecca pact states meet in Tehran as Saudi Arabia downs more Houthi drones
Iran held talks with Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey on regional security while the Houthis claimed attacks on Saudi oil stations and Riyadh airport.

Iran began talks on Monday with Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey, the other members of the Mecca security pact, on regional security, Iranian state television said. The four agreed to keep talking. Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman was pictured with President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The same day Saudi Arabia intercepted three drones over Riyadh and its southern region, The National reported. Yemen's Houthis said they had targeted Saudi oil pumping stations and Riyadh airport; those claims were not independently confirmed.
Egypt's parliament approved military support for Saudi Arabia, and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pledged to defend the kingdom. Several sports and business events in Saudi Arabia have been postponed in recent weeks because of the attacks.
