Hezbollah rearming with Iranian cash for possible new war, sources say
Lebanese security sources told Reuters the group has used the lull since June to rebuild its drone and explosives capacity, though it is not yet fully prepared.
Hezbollah has spent the past three months preparing for a possible return to war with Israel, helped by tens of millions of dollars from Iran, Lebanese security sources told Reuters.
Two sources said the group had used the lull in fighting since June to rearm, focusing on explosives and attack drones, and was rebuilding command structures that broke down in battles around Bint Jbeil. Hezbollah's media office rejected the account of a breakdown and said Israel's presence in southern Lebanon gave it a right to resist.
The sources said Hezbollah had not yet fully rebuilt its stockpiles or forces. Israel's military declined to comment; a US State Department spokesman said Washington would keep squeezing the group's finances. Israel continues to occupy a security zone in southern Lebanon.
