Israeli forces close every entrance to Ramallah on election morning
Gates and checkpoints around Ramallah were shut from early Tuesday and new checkpoints went up on the side roads residents use to get around them, WAFA reported.

Israeli forces closed all the entrances to Ramallah early on Tuesday, according to local sources quoted by the Palestinian news agency WAFA. The closures covered the Ein Sinya and Atara checkpoints, the Rawabi gate to the north and the Nabi Saleh and Aboud gates to the north-west.
Troops also set up new checkpoints on the alternative routes Palestinians rely on when the main roads are shut, WAFA said, including one near the education directorate on the al-Bireh to al-Jalazone road and another on the road between Yabrud and Silwad.
The closure came on the day Israelis voted in a general election and followed a week of sweeping restrictions across the occupied West Bank after a deadly attack near Hebron on Friday. A UN spokesman said on Friday it was the fourth time in a month that Israel had imposed restrictions across the territory.
WAFA did not report any arrests or injuries linked to the Ramallah closures, and there was no Israeli statement explaining them.
