Tech for Palestine and Thaura plan Barcelona hackathon on 'ethical alternatives'
The one-day event on 31 October at the Canòdrom, part of Mozilla Festival, asks teams to build tools that help users leave 'complicit technology'.

Tech for Palestine and the ethical AI platform Thaura will hold a one-day hackathon at the Canòdrom in Barcelona on 31 October, as part of the Mozilla Festival, MENA Startup Digest reported.
Up to 100 engineers, designers and strategists will be asked to build working prototypes or campaigns that make it easier for people to move away from technology the organisers describe as complicit, from apps and browser plugins to migration tools.
Teams will present five-minute demos and pitches. The strongest projects may be taken into the Tech for Palestine incubator, which says it has supported more than 90 projects. Entry is free.
