Qatar and Egypt condemn Ben-Gvir's entry to Al-Aqsa compound
The two governments said the visit by Israel's national security minister, escorted by police and joined by hundreds of settlers, breached the status quo at the holy site.

Qatar and Egypt on Monday condemned a visit to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem by Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who was escorted by Israeli police.
Egypt's Foreign Ministry said Ben-Gvir was accompanied by hundreds of settlers and called the visit a serious violation of the historical and legal status quo at the site. It rejected any attempt to divide the compound by time or space.
“the blessed Al Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims”
Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Qatar's Foreign Ministry said the act offended Muslims worldwide and warned that repeated provocations risk fuelling a new cycle of violence. Both governments called on the international community to act. The visit came on the eve of the Israeli election, in which Ben-Gvir leads the Otzma Yehudit list.
