Palestine to face hosts Saudi Arabia in Asian Cup opener
The AFC confirmed the 2027 tournament will go ahead as planned in Saudi Arabia from 7 January, despite postponements of other events over Houthi attacks.

Palestine will play hosts Saudi Arabia in the opening match of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup at King Fahd Sports City Stadium in Riyadh on 7 January, after the Asian Football Confederation confirmed on Monday that the tournament will go ahead as planned.
The 24-team finals run until 5 February across eight stadiums in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar, with the final also in Riyadh. It is the first time Saudi Arabia has hosted the tournament.
The confirmation follows the postponement of several events in the kingdom because of Houthi attacks, including an Asian Champions League match in Riyadh and the Six Kings Slam tennis exhibition.
